Thomas' Boat

So, this weekend, Thomas bought a boat. He has been itching to get one since, well, forever, really, but we could never really justify it. But now since we aren't buying a house and instead renting, we used the money we were going to use for the down payment to buy a boat. Thomas is really excited about it. His brothers are excited about it. His dad is excited about it. His cousin, etc, etc, etc. Aiden even seems to be pretty excited, at least he likes to walk around the boat and touch stuff. Although I can't say I'm excited, it was pretty much inevitable, and if we get some food out of it, awesome. I'm just not the fisherman the rest of them are, but that all can change. I've only fished from the shore, and apparently, that sucks and you can never catch any fish that way in the Big Bend area and if you had a boat to go out even just a few hundred feet, you'll catch lots of fish, so I am optimistic, but as of now, fishing is boring to me.
I am excited, however, for Thomas to have another thing to do with his boys. I think it's adorable that he is so excited to have man stuff to bond with his boys. Or at least Aiden at this point, I guess we don't really know if there are more boys in it for us, I'm just assuming.
Here are some pictures of Aiden and the boat.

P.S. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! I'm going to try to my hand at Corned Beef and Cabbage tonight.
Or I might just go over to the in-laws and eat theirs. :)

Update.

So, the past month has been a lot of back and forth. We are definitely moving from the house we are in now so that Thomas' brother and his family can move here. We were going to get another house and put it on the property here, but then after a huge run-around with the bank of getting financed but then having that bank change it's mind to other banks not willing to finance us because we already have a house, even though we will be leasing it out, blah, blah, blah, we will be renting. Luckily, Thomas' aunt and family will be moving to California in a strange turn of events that wasn't in the picture a couple weeks ago, and so we will be renting out their house which is smack-dab in the middle of town! Hoorah! Which means Thomas will be able to eat dinner with me every evening, even when he's working, and we will spend like zip in gas because everything is right there and so on and so on. We're pretty excited for something new, but are sad to leave the family here on the property.
Aiden is crazy. He climbs on everything, including our gate, which is more of a hazard instead of a help because of his toe-gripping climbing abilities. He has lots of tricks. If you ask him to show you his chompers he will bare his teeth and bite down so you can hear them. He "talks on the phone" all the time. He'll hold something, whether it's an actual phone or a piece of carrot, up to his hear and say hey over and over. We're trying to get him to learn how to blow kisses, but that is a slow process because when you show him what to do, he will want to use your hand instead of his own. He babbles constantly and I like to pretend I know what he's saying. He is also walking about 75% of the time now. And he aggressively wrestles with Zelda all the time, but she is amazing and very patient with him, she just has to get in a few good licks on the face every now and then. And one last trick, he has learned how to take off his diaper. I'm not sure if this is a remembered trait, he's just did it about four times in a row today and the first was kind of a happen-stance sort of thing. I guess we'll really find out if it's a learned trait in the next few days.
As for myself, all the news I have had is that I went through a little bout of vomity sickness this week which I caught from Robbie and Michelle's house. I am glad to say, however, that I definitely got the mild version of what they had. I didn't even get a fever, or if I did, I slept through it. Just had a very iffy stomach for a few days, but I am back to normal now.
